CAE served as project engineer for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) with specific responsibility for design, submittal coordination and reviews, and numerous sub-agreements for two Federal Transit Agency (FTA) funded projects with the Puget Sound Regional Transit Agency (Sound Transit). These include the Federal Way Link Extension (FWLE) and the Tacoma Dome Link Extension Operations and Maintenance Facility (TDLE/OMF-/S).
The corridor on which the FWLE is being constructed resides primarily on WSDOT right-of-way (ROW) and affects a significant amount of WSDOT infrastructure. CAE has also coordinated construction issues with the D-B contractor and agencies involving geotechnical, drainage, wetlands, Bingaman Creek relocation, utilities, landscaping, and maintenance access. The position requires extensive coordination with Sound Transit, its contractor, and the various departments within WSDOT as well as resolution of issues and conflicting inputs.
